01 About this policy
Market Spyglass is developed by Julimbob. This policy covers the Market Spyglass iPhone app and its marketing pages at julimbob.com/marketspyglass.
The app does not require an account, connect to a brokerage or ask for your financial account details. Julimbob does not collect app usage analytics, advertising identifiers, location, contacts or your research history. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
02 Data on your device
The app saves settings such as your pinned assets, named pin sets, chart preferences and refresh settings locally on your device. Downloaded financial data is also stored locally so it can be used offline. This information is not uploaded to a Julimbob server, and the app has no Julimbob account or cloud-sync service.
Local data remains until you change it, reset the relevant data or delete the app. Reset Downloaded Data removes downloaded financial updates while keeping your preferences. Deleting the app, rather than offloading it, removes its local app data. Any device backups are managed separately by you and Apple.
03 Network requests
The app includes a research snapshot and can be used offline. When financial data is refreshed, your device contacts the data provider directly. The current iPhone app uses the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Company Facts service for supported financial updates.
The provider receives ordinary network information, including your IP address, the requested company or resource, and an application identifier. SEC requests include Julimbob’s developer contact information; they do not include your email address, pin sets or chart preferences. The provider handles its own request logs under its privacy policy.
Requests can occur when you refresh, when the app opens, and through background refresh when enabled and allowed by iOS. You can turn off Background App Refresh in iOS Settings. Turning it off does not prevent requests while you are using the app.
05 Website and support
The Market Spyglass marketing pages do not add analytics, advertising trackers or cookies. Fonts and images are served with the website rather than fetched from third-party font or analytics services.
Our hosting provider, Krystal, processes normal web requests to deliver and protect the site. These requests contain information such as your IP address, requested page, browser information and request time, and may appear in access or error logs. Hosting logs follow the provider’s operational retention settings. We use this information only as needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the website.
If you contact us by email or through Julimbob’s feedback form, we receive the message and any name or contact details you choose to provide. We use them to answer your request and handle related follow-up, and keep them only as long as needed for that purpose or any applicable legal requirement. Our hosting and email providers process this information to deliver and store the message. The feedback form also keeps hashed network addresses and timestamps for abuse prevention; it does not store message contents in its rate-limit records.
Where data protection law requires a lawful basis, our basis for website security and responding to enquiries is our legitimate interest in running the website safely and helping people who contact us.
06 Your choices and rights
You can change saved preferences in the app, reset downloaded data, disable Background App Refresh, or delete the app’s local data by deleting the app. Julimbob cannot access or erase data that remains only on your device.
For personal information we hold from a support request or website visit, you may have rights to access, correct or delete it, restrict its use, object to processing or receive a portable copy, depending on the circumstances and applicable law. Contact us using the address below to make a request or raise a privacy concern.
If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Elsewhere, you can contact your local data protection authority.
07 Children’s privacy
Market Spyglass is a financial research tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information in a support message, contact us so we can remove it.
08 Changes and contact
We will update this page if the app’s data practices change. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
